'The Wow! Signal was a powerful, narrowband radio signal detected on August 15, 1977, by the Big Ear radio telescope in Ohio. Written as "6EQUJ5" in the telescope's data, its strength and characteristics suggested it might be of extraterrestrial origin, prompting astronomer Jerry Ehman to write "Wow!" on the printout. Despite significant interest from scientists, the signal was never detected again, and its true origin remains a mystery'.
